Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery is in northeastern Catalonia. It is one of the more scenic places I’ve been to before. I found out about this location from the travel bloggers I follow on twitter. If you happen to be in this region you have to make a stop at this Monastery. It is in the region of Cap de Creus National Park, providing lots of opportunities for other day trips as well.Below are a few pictures that illustrate the beauty of the monastery and the area. The Medieval Appeal of the Prague Castle
Prague Castle is the Castle located on the hill. It is close to the city centre and a must visit if you are staying in Prague. The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and built sometime in the 800’s. It is OLD to put it bluntly. I love all things medieval, maybe it is an appreciation for the buildings and craftsmanship of that time. Have a look at this door we found within the castle, could we find something so unique in this day and age?!?! Continue reading
Holiday Magic At The Toronto Christmas Market
Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. There is so much to do and everything is decorated so nicely.
The Old World Charm of Bath, England
About 2.5 hours west of London England is a city called Bath. It is also a Unesco World Heritage Site. As with most things in England, the city is old and has lots of history behind it. The city was established to be a spa/”Bath” for the Romans many years ago. I only realized once I got there that this was how the city got its name. There were many pubs with very good deals throughout the day Continue reading
The Storybook Villages of the Cotswolds

Arlington Row
When I think of England, I think of old villages and classic architecture as well as amazing pub food. A couple hours west of London England there are a number of old magical villages within the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds are an area of natural beauty with rolling hills and many trees. The villages are very well preserved and same with the environment. Continue reading
The Cliffs of Moher
Make no mistake about it, this is one of the main attractions when you are visiting the Western Portion of Ireland. Most people have heard or read about the Cliffs but it is something totally different to experience this natural wonder in person. Did you know that the Cliffs of Moher is one of the locations in Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince?!?!? The part where Harry Potter and Dumbledore are entering the cliff looking to destroy a Horcrux.
The Sunshine of the Costa Brava Region
Before we planned this trip I had never heard of this Northeastern region in Spain. It wasn’t until I read a couple blog posts I was convinced this was a place we needed to see. A couple hours north of Barcelona is Costa Brava. Bringing it up in conversation I was surprised how few people usually go to this region. This is easily one of the most picturesque places I have visited. Continue reading
A Castle in the Hills: Kylemore Abbey

Kylemore Abbey
The Connemara region of Ireland is perhaps one of the most beautiful regions of the world. Honestly, I didn’t realize this until I saw it with my own eyes. In the midst of all of the big hills they have, is Kylemore Abbey. This castle is stunning. While I was researching some of the destinations we would cover during our trip to Ireland, I remember putting a star beside this one. While it isn’t quite like the castles you would see in Old Europe, it is still quite unique and definitely worth a visit. Continue reading
5 Reasons Why We Love Hiking
1. Nature
When you make an effort to get out on a trail you are rewarded by being surrounded by some amazing nature. Forests, mountain tops, Sea lines, Canyons are just a few of the areas that we have hiked through. Each area has its own unique flavour and no two areas in the world are ever replicated. That is mother natures gift to us. All we have to do is get out and enjoy it and make sure that humans don’t destroy it.
A day at Nymphenburg Palace in Munich Germany
One of the things that I came to enjoy while visiting Germany was touring their castles and palaces. There are many of them and they are very grand and detailed. While we were in Munich we decided to spend a day visiting the Nymphenburg Palace. The grounds require a lot of walking if you want to see everything, so leave yourself lots of time and wear walking shoes.
