One of the things that I came to enjoy while visiting Germany was touring their castles and palaces. There are many of them and they are very grand and detailed. While we were in Munich we decided to spend a day visiting the Nymphenburg Palace. The grounds require a lot of walking if you want to see everything, so leave yourself lots of time and wear walking shoes.
For a detailed history of the castle and info visit their homepage http://www.schloss-nymphenburg.de/englisch/palace/index.htm
We visited on a weekday so it was less busy than had we decided to visit on a weekend. One thing I wish I had the chance to do was visit this site and Germany during fall foliage, the leaves would look amazing I’m sure. We missed this time of year by a couple of weeks.
There were some nice trails to walk on and places to sit and enjoy throughout the estate.
One of the things I was most impressed by was this Gothic looking carriage. Construction started on this palace in the 17th century so there is lots of history here and everything is so old. I’m attracted to history and architecture when visiting destinations. This is a place you should make sure you visit in Munich.
Great photo!
Thanks for stopping by!
