First time in Cuba.  The resort was beautiful and on the island of Cayo Santa Maria.  It is a long bus ride from the airport to the resort, and a really long bridge to get to the resort.  The weather was beautiful – sunny and hot.  The food was mediocre.  The staff was very friendly.

Rent a scooter for the day, and travel off the resort.  Make sure to rent one per person, just in case it breaks down.

We found a cute little hut, and went for a swim out in this great beach area.  The sun was scorching and the air was refreshing.

A week on a resort was enough for us.  We prefer to explore what is around the place we are visiting.  We both agreed it would be a long time before we visit again.  A three or four day trip to a sunny beach resort is the perfect amount of time.  Enough time to unwind, and not too long to feel bored.
