When you see the castle for the first time in person, you will understand the description “fairy tale”. It truly looks like a castle out of some of the fairy tale children’s books. Pictures online do not do it justice.

A day trip to Berchtesgaden National Park is a must if you are visiting Munich. You would regret it if you didn’t take the time to see this magnificent park. Especially if you are an outdoor enthusiast.
If you go to the same destination more than once at the exact same time of year, call it an annual event.
Annual July long weekend back country camping trip.
A 32 km hike over a three day period.
No problem for some people, but as a first backcountry trek? Many people may think this is crazy however if you like to prove people wrong this is the hike for you! Especially if you love a challenge.
The first day (about 12 km) and straight up a hill. This is no joke. The huffing and puffing began towards the break point, Maple Leaf Lake, about half way to our destination Maggie Lake. This is when you start to question why you decided to pick Maggie Lake as the first stop and not Maple Leaf Lake.
